‘Hold your nerve’ over 20mph, campaigners tell Welsh Government

Cycling campaigners have urged the Welsh Government to hold its nerve and not water down its plans to reduce the speed on restricted roads from 30mph to 20mph.

Charity Cycling UK and campaign group Cardiff Cycle City have both expressed disappointment at new Welsh Transport Secretary Ken Skates suggestion last week that Wales’ 20mph zones should be targeted at schools, hospitals and nurseries.

He said that there would be changes to the existing default 20mph speed limit in built-up areas...
