Road deaths up as minister voices doubts about 80mph
ROAD?SAFETY
The number of people killed on Britain’s roads rose 2.8%?last year from 1,850 in 2010 to 1,901, the DfT said this week.
The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety highlighted the 10% rise in deaths on built-up roads last year. But the Association of British Drivers took a cautious line, saying the fall in fatalities in 2010 had been “exceptionally large” – 16.7%.
