Ministers urged to find cash for flood-damaged roads
ROAD?MAINTENANCE
The Local Government Association is calling on the DfT to establish an emergency capital highways maintenance fund in response to this week’s flooding in the north of England and flooding incidents earlier this summer.
The Association wants the Government to repeat the scheme to repair highways and structures that was set up in 2007, so that councils don’t have to divert funds from other local authority infrastructure projects.
