Council could run buses as First cuts routes
East Lothian Council is considering setting up its own bus company to fill gaps left by a raft of service withdrawals announced by FirstGroup.
First Scotland East plans to withdraw 20 routes across East and Midlothian in June. Five of the routes are currently operated on a tendered basis. Many of the routes are rural ones on which there is no other operator.
