Six-month closure of Putney Bridge planned

The London Borough of Wandsworth plans to press ahead with a six-month closure of Putney Bridge despite opposition from London Buses.

 Putney Bridge carries 41,000 vehicles a day and is used by 11 bus routes but Wandsworth says a programme of carriageway replacement and waterproofing is necessary.
