Car hire scheme for Lake District

Car hire operators are being invited to bid to establish a network of hire points in the Lake District. Vehicles will be located at visitor accommodation and transport interchanges across the central and southern Lakes, the area covered by the £6.9m Go Lakes Travel programme that aims to reduce car dependence. “Providing this facility means that our ‘ask’ for visitors not to bring their own cars with them can be made much more confidently,” say the project partners...
