2017 opening for East West Rail?

Direct trains between Oxford and Bedford could be running by 2017, following the Government’s announcement of financial backing for the East West Rail project (LTT 2 Dec). The DfT said it would announce next summer how the project will proceed “subject to a satisfactory local contribution and business case”.
