Edinburgh retains bikes in bus lane ban
Councillors in Edinburgh have endorsed the continuing ban on motorbikes and other powered two wheelers (PTWs) from using the city’s bus lanes. Director of city development, Dave Anderson, told councillors that the latest trial results from London of PTWs in bus lanes showed the policy had improved journey times for motorcyclists but increased their risk of accidents with cars and vans.
