Councils get freedom to specify parking levy rules
Local authorities in England are to be given freedom to specify charging levels, exemptions and discounts for workplace parking levy schemes.
The DfT’s consultation on the draft regulations for WPL schemes says ministers will, however, scrutinise a council’s proposals carefully. “If any arrangements are proposed that conflict with national policy, the Secretary of State may decide not to confirm the Scheme Order,” says the Department.
