Motorists to pay for expanded P&R provision in West Mids

A big increase in park-and-ride (P&R) provision is being planned for the West Midlands conurbation but the policy of free parking is likely to be axed. 

Transport for the West Midlands (TfWM) currently provides more than 8,500 parking spaces at 38 rail stations, three Midland Metro stops, and one bus site. A further almost 4,000 spaces are provided in the conurbation by rail operators, mainly Virgin Trains.
