Council staff will lose free parking at work in a shake-up at Rutland County Council. A cabinet meeting voted to scrap 82 staff permit holder bays at council offices in Catmos and instead open them up to the public as pay & display spaces.
A council spokesman said that the move would help save more than £200,000 a year and would encourage council staff to either car share or use more sustainable modes of transport.
