Cardiff Council seeks funding for £1 bus fare

Cardiff Council is the latest authority to seek funding for an eye-catching reduction in bus fares, after a pilot £1 fare before Christmas attracted new passengers.

The UK Government has already agreed funding for fares reductions in some areas of England. In Cornwall, local fares reduced by 20% in April and some bus passes were almost halved in price, thanks to a four-year scheme funded by the DfT.
