The Transport Committee’s report is still awaited on the inquiry it launched nine moths ago one year after the publication of the Government’s national bus strategy, Bus Back Better.
The Committee said it wanted to investigate the progress of delivery and implementation of the policy.
Recommendations from the Transport Committee’s 2019 inquiry into the health of the bus market were, it believed, central to the Government’s National Bus Strategy when it was launched in March 2021. The Committee said it wanted to examine the progress that had been achieved.
The closing date for written evidence was Friday 1 April 2022. and the last witnesses appeared in June, before the summer recess.
