The cost of modernising the District, Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines has jumped by £1.22bn, from £4.26bn to £5.48bn, Transport for London has reported.
The programme features the delivery of new trains, associated enabling works, and replacing existing signalling with automatic train control (ATC).
