Borders Railway impacts probed

Transport Scotland is assessing tenders for a study to help understand how the soon-to-open Borders Railway changes people’s travel behaviour. The railway from Edinburgh to Tweedbank is due to open on Sunday 6 September. The initial baseline study will see a contractor interview 1,500 households and 100 businesses in both the Scottish Borders and Midlothian council areas, through which the railway runs, plus 500 households in a control area elsewhere.
