A pedestrian simulation tool has been launched by German software provider PTV to help inform railways station operators, city planners and architects. PTV says the new tool, Viswalk, can calculate the capacity of railway and underground stations, identify the best walking routes for passengers, assess queuing patterns at ticket windows and work out evacuation procedures.
