Rail season ticket usage reaches new record highs

THE latest statistics on rail patronage show that the proportion of journeys being made by season ticket holders is growing rapidly, and heading back to the sort of proportions of total traffic last seen in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

According to the latest figures published by the ORR, some 590 million passenger journeys were taken on the network by season ticket holders (and remember that Travelcards are excluded from these figures). Between them, they covered 15.1 billion passenger...
