Manchester Piccadilly to get new station car park
Network Rail is increasing parking provision at Manchester Piccadilly railway station. An extension to the existing multi-storey car park will see an extra 263 spaces contributing to the existing 592 spaces. Demand for rail travel from the station has increased to such a point that drivers are increasingly being turned away because the car park is full. This trend has been exacerbated by the increase in trains per hour to and from London to three per hour since the end of 2008.
