Council parking income drops by more than 10%
Total net revenues from English local authority parking fell to £326m in 2008/09, down from £366m the previous year. The figures appear in a new analysis of parking revenues by John Siraut, director: economics at consultant Colin Buchanan.
Siraut has updated his 2009 research, which revealed that nearly 100 councils make a loss on their parking operations (PR March 2009). “A year on, the financial situation has, if anything, worsened for these authorities,” he writes....
