‘Over 50% of cancer patients do not get free hospital parking’
More than half of cancer patients do not get free or discounted parking when they visit hospital despite government guidelines, according to research by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Under Department of Health recommendations, NHS trusts in England should offer some kind of concession for people who require repeat visits to hospital for treatment. However, well over half (59%) of cancer patients are still not getting free or discounted parking, the survey says.
