Fair charging is the healthy option

Scrapping hospital tariffs often results in parking chaos, with patients suffering most of all, writes Grahame Rose.

Why were hospital charges introduced?

Contrary to what some popular newspapers and partisan lobbying organisations say, parking charging was brought in as a way of managing congestion and ensuring sufficient parking for bona fide patients, visitors and staff, not as a way of generating extra income.
