London to escape Spending Review transport cuts?

Reports this morning suggest that transport investment in London will escape major cuts in the government's Comprehensive Spending Review.
BBC London has revealed that Transport for London has been told to reduce its budget by at least 6% every year for the next four years - reducing it by £2bn in total.
However, funding for local transport schemes and road safety projects will face cuts, but bus and Tube services in the capital will largely be protected.
