Correcting falsehoods in The Spectator’s HS2 coverage

I daresay Ross Clark of The Spectator is better placed than I am to speculate on the internal dynamics of the Conservative party, but whenever he makes a statement about HS2 that I can verify, he is wrong (Media Monitor LTT 22 Jun).
Most glaringly, Clark states that an HS2 Bill would automatically die if not passed by the end of this Parliament. But the HS2 Bill would be a Hybrid Bill, which can be the subject of a ‘carry over’ motion and be picked up again in a new Parliament where...
