Missing casualty targets
Local Transport Today
The steady decline in reported road casualties has been one of the transport sector’s good news stories in recent years, so last week’s publication of the statistics for 2011 made for gloomy reading. Fatalities are up for the first time since 2003 and killed and serious injuries are up for the first time since 1994. The only bright note is that overall casualties – including slight injuries – were down.
