Bypassing the LEPs

The DfT’s plan to devolve major transport scheme funding has generated huge interest within the transport planning and local government community. While all consultees have welcomed the proposals in principle, many are unhappy with the form it is proposed to take. The Local Government Association and ADEPT both want the Department to rethink plans to allocate funding to Local Enterprise Partnership areas, saying this will add complexity, nowhere more so than in areas where LEP boundaries...
