Congratulations on your succinct coverage of the Government’s HS2 decision, it usefully pulled together a wide range of complicated issues (LTT 19 Jan). I would like to pick-up on the matter that you mentioned on page 9, that of the integration, actually the non-integration, of HS2 into the various regional economies.
One of the real concerns attaching to the high-speed rail project is the possibility that London and the South East could ‘drain’ what remains of local economies...
