Ministers warned of devolution risks

The DfT has been urged to develop new systems for checking its funds are spent within its rules and not wasted as it moves to devolve a further £0.5bn a year.

The National Audit Office this week identifies the risks involved in the DfT’s plan to give local transport bodies discretion over the funds for major schemes, its largest bid-based fund.
