HS2 carbon savings not certain without bold sustainability policies, say greens
The Government can quadruple its predicted modest saving in carbon of 0.6 million tonnes over sixty years with a wider package of policies, according to campaigners.
A report written by Greengauge 21 for the Campaign to Protect Rural England, Campaign for Better Transport and the RSPB says that iif Government abandons its sustainability policies, HS2 could actually result in increased emissions.
