Decision over airport capacity 'to be taken out of DfT's hands'

The Government is to ask an independent commission to review the future of Britain’s airports, it has been reported.

The commission could decide whether or not to authorise Heathrow’s expansion after this parliament, as the Chancellor said on Sunday was one of the alternatives that should be looked at.
