Downpours prompt all-weather repairs

Instarmac has unveiled what it says is the first ever approved pothole repair material that can be used in all weathers. The supplier said that the Ultracrete flexible cold-lay asphalt, approved by the Highway Authorities Product Approval Scheme, is easy to lay in wet weather, unlike the popular material of hot-mix asphalt that it said is cooled too soon by rain, making it difficult to finish compaction. Instarmac, which has also released a new reinstatement system for installing access covers comprising a range of bedding mortars and cold lay asphalt, claimed that work to repair highway defects does not have to stop because poor weather conditions prevail.
