West Mids leaders rebuff ITA bid to steer conurbation priorities
Leaders of the seven metropolitan district councils in the West Midlands have rebuffed an attempt by the Integrated Transport Authority to develop a new conurbation-wide transport governance framework.
ITA chairman John McNicholas last month prepared a paper setting out plans for a ‘transport region of cities deal’. This would provide the governance framework for a conurbation-wide strategic transport investment package, funded by a West Midlands Transport Fund (LTT 03 Aug).
