Bristol tackles roundabout safety
Bristol City Council is to spend £1m improving the pedestrian and cycling environment at a notorious roundabout close to the city centre.
Surface level crossings will be installed to complement existing pedestrian subways on the St James Barton roundabout, providing a safe route for cyclists and pedestrians.
The roundabout was built in the 1960s and has been highlighted as a danger spot by The Times’ Cities fit for cycling campaign.
