Demand for car club permits ‘slow’
The recession and high car club permit charges are among the factors being blamed for a significantly slower than expected expansion of car club vehicles in the London Borough of Wandsworth.
Wandsworth, the borough with the second highest number of car club members (after Westminster), had been planning to provide on-street parking bays for up to 150 car club vehicles by the end of 2011 and a further 60 in 2012. But it says only 92 have been needed to date.
