Construction work begins on TfL’s £50m cross-Thames cable car
Construction work has begun on stations for the 1km cable car that will span the River Thames in East London, linking the Royal Victoria Dock, north of the Thames, with the Greenwich Peninsula on the south side. Transport for London is providing the upfront funding of £50.5m for the project and aims to recoup the costs from fare revenue, advertising and the appointment of a commercial partner who will secure their name on the system, just like Barclays sponsors the capital’s cycle...
