TIF work still on course as elections fail to dent plans

The Greater Manchester authorities are believed to be planning a £3bn Transport Innovation Fund package this summer to the DfT, encompassing major improvements to the Metrolink, rail and bus networks, alongside a road pricing scheme.

The size of the bid is far greater than the £1bn that the authorities proposed in their draft proposals published in February (LTT 1 Feb). The Manchester Evening News which reported the £3bn figure, said that £1.2bn was envisaged coming...
