Speed management guidance commissioned
The DfT is preparing guidance for highway authorities on how to choose the most appropriate measures to manage vehicle speeds.
The guidance has been prompted by the Government's decision to end the safety camera partnership programme, which is perceived to have led to an over-reliance on speed cameras as the preferred method of speed management (LTT 22 Dec 05).
Under the new arrangements, which will come into force next April, safety cameras will be integrated into the wider road safety...
