Variable speeding points system returns as news item
The re-publication of the Government's Road Safety Bill, a piece of legislation that failed to make it into law before the last General Election, provoked several papers into running stories about the possibility of a variable system of penalty points for speeding drivers being introduced, despite this possibility having already been extensively aired in print when the Bill was first published (LTT 16 Dec 04).
