Lib Dems back bus QCs and road pricing
The Liberal Democrats have called for integrated transport authorities to be given the power to approve bus Quality Contracts unilaterally.
In a new policy paper the Lib Dems say the proposed Quality Contracts approvals board outlined in the Local Transport Bill should only be an advisory body.
The party also proposes two-phase reforms to vehicle taxation. Phase one would see annual vehicle excise duty of £2,000 for vehicles with the highest carbon dioxide emissions and no VED on cars...
