Welsh transport consortia poised to manage bus funding
Wales’ four regional transport consortia are poised to take a bigger role in funding bus services under reforms proposed by the Welsh Government.
Transport minister Carl Sargeant wants to create a single ring-fenced grant for buses from April 2013 to replace the existing Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) and the Local Transport Services Grant (LTSG) that funds a range of measures including additional services, new vehicles, and works such as new bus shelters.
