Southport bike hire expands

Sefton Council on Merseyside is seeking an operator for its cycle hire scheme. The scheme was set up in 2009 and currently covers Southport but it is set to be extended across the council area and into West Lancashire thanks to a successful funding application to the DfT’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund. The contract is due to start on 16 July and will initially run for 15 months with the potential of a two-year extension.
