I read with interest that transport planners are being asked what needs to be done to encourage more of them to take the transport planning professional qualification (‘Transport planners quizzed on qualification’ LTT 1 Apr).
Studying for a professional qualification requires a commitment in both time and finance, and really the student has to weigh up the potential long-term benefits of gaining the qualification and in particular how the qualification will be valued and recognised...
