Campaign to boost Bristol’s rail network is gathering speed

Gavin Smith’s doleful letter on the lack of a rail transport vision in the Greater Bristol area is understandable (Letters LTT 16 Feb). Despite having 24 functioning stations, the majority have an hourly frequency with poor rail connections and even poorer bus connections.
Hopefully Gavin is cheered by the announcement, on 23 February, of a campaign by Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council for a ‘Greater Bristol Metro Rail’.
