Scots boost land-use/transport integration

Transport Scotland has published new guidance to strengthen the links between transport and land-use planning.
Under the new arrangements, local authorities will have to prepare a transport appraisal to inform the preparation of development plans. The appraisal will identify the impacts that changes in spatial development could have on the performance of the strategic transport network (STN) – Scotland’s motorways, trunk roads and rail network.
