The high-speed rail timetable

Consultation on the high-speed rail strategy and London-Birmingham route will begin in February and run through to July. The proposed route and strategy will then be published in December.

Designing the London-Birmingham route and preparing an environmental impact assessment will take place during 2012 and the early part of 2013. A hybrid Bill for the route will be deposited in Parliament in October 2013 with Royal Assent expected in May 2015.
