ITA drops plan to carry bikes on board trams
Plans to allow bicycles on Sheffield’s Supertram network have been dropped after surveys revealed their prescence would conflict with other passengers.
In June South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority proposed allowing bicycles to be carried on trams in off-peak hours on all lines except the busiest route between Cathedral and Meadowhall. This would have made Sheffield the first tram system in the country to accommodate bikes.
