Adonis calls for free Metro travel
TRANSPORT Secretary Lord Adonis has promised to investigate whether free bus passes for pensioners and the disabled could be extended to the Metro.
But he warned the £1bn cost of bus concessionary travel was “huge” after being questioned in the Lords by North East peer Baroness Quin who played a leading role in getting the scheme launched.
