Richmond extends CO2-based parking charges to visitors
A pioneering emissions-based parking policy could be extended from residents’ parking to parking meters and council-owned car parks.
Councillors in the London Borough of Richmond were considering the plans this week. The Liberal Democrat-controlled council introduced an emissions-based policy for residents’ car parking in 2007, whereby permit charges in Controlled Parking Zones are graduated according to a vehicle’s CO2 emissions.
