Kent claims school car use success
Kent County Council says its school travel policies have cut the percentage of children being driven to school from 35.6% in 2006/07 to 34.1% in 2007/08. Kent attributes the reduction to its Freedom Pass costing £50 that gives students aged 11-16 unlimited travel on buses in the county for a year; ‘walking buses’; cycle training; tackling unruly behaviour on buses; and a rating system for school travel plans....
