Let's debate aviation's climate impact with all the facts on the table

Laurie Price is right to call for a "sensible dialogue, based on the facts" (ibid) but his argument falls into a pattern that has become sufficiently familiar as to be wearisome. Like the aviation industry as a whole, Price eagerly highlights those facts that buttress his cause but seems perfectly happy to ignore any that do not.

The industry is keen to focus on aviation's global emissions and Price is no different. He quotes from the Stern Review, stating that aviation makes up 1.7%...
