Passenger Transport Operations and Facilities Manager
PO1 £28,636 - £30,851 a year
With over 10 million passengers a year using Derby’s bus station the site forms a key part of the cities public transport network. To ensure that it operates smoothly it is essential that there is a high quality management team running the site and the associated city centre bus stops.
We are now looking to build on the work of the current Bus Station Manager by recruiting two new posts, a Passenger Transport Operations and Facilities Manager and an Assistant Passenger Transport Operations and Facilities Manager to take forward the management of the site. Between them these two posts will be the Councils main points of contact for the bus station and surrounding city centre bus stops and will have day to day responsibility for ensuring the service provided to passengers using the facilities is of the highest quality. You will also need to liaise with the bus and coach companies who use the facilities and ensure the contractors responsible for cleaning, maintaining and staffing the site do so to the required standard. Other responsibilities will include
managing the fi nances of the bus station, developing the sites business plan and emergency procedures and updating the information provided to passengers.
Because the bus station is open for up to 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, some evening and weekend work will be required in both of these posts.
For an informal discussion about either post, please call John Evans
the Bus Station Manager on 01332 711550.
Closing date: Friday, 24 August 2012.
Interview date: Week commencing 3 September 2012.
